Foggy, yellowed headlights don't just look tired — they cut how far your lights actually reach at night. We restore the lens properly and lock it in with a ceramic coating, wherever your car already is on the Gold Coast.
A small selection of headlights restored around the Gold Coast. Same process, every time.
Before anyone looks at your paint, your wheels or your interior, they see your headlights. A car with clear, bright lenses looks cared for. A car with clouded, yellowed ones looks neglected — even if everything else about it is spotless. It's the detail that quietly makes or breaks a first impression.
It's not only cosmetic either. Oxidised lenses scatter and block light, which means less of it actually reaches the road at night. That's a real safety issue, and it's also the kind of thing that can hold up a roadworthy inspection or make a buyer walk away from an otherwise great car.
We restore headlights, headlamps and front light assemblies on every make and model — whatever the plastic lens is called on your car, the process and the ceramic-coated result are the same.
I started Gold Coast Headlight Restorations because I got tired of seeing good cars let down by lenses nobody had properly looked after. Every headlight I restore gets the full process — no shortcuts, no rushed polish job that fades in a few weeks. Just a proper result, done at your door, anywhere on the Gold Coast.

Oxidised, cloudy lenses scatter light instead of projecting it. That means a shorter effective beam, more glare, and less time to react on unlit roads at night.
Badly deteriorated lenses can be flagged during a Queensland roadworthy check. Sorting them beforehand is quick, affordable, and avoids being sent back for rework.
Buyers notice yellow headlights before anything else — and it makes them question what else hasn't been looked after. Clear lenses change that instantly.
There's no shortcut version of this that actually lasts. Here's what happens when we restore your headlights.
We check the extent of the oxidation and mask off the surrounding paint and trim so nothing but the lens gets touched.
The lens is worked through a series of finer and finer grits to physically remove the damaged, oxidised outer layer of the plastic.
A cutting compound and machine polisher remove the sanding marks and bring the plastic back to true optical clarity.
A ceramic coating is applied to the freshly polished lens — the step that actually stops it clouding over again in a few months.
Masking comes off, the lens gets inspected under direct light, and we walk you through the result before we pack up.
New OEM headlight assemblies run into the hundreds or thousands per side once fitting is included. Professional restoration gets a comparable result for a fraction of that, done at your door.
We regularly get called out to redo headlights where a budget kit or a rushed cash job was used — looked fine for a few weeks, then went straight back to yellow. The reason is almost always the same: no proper multi-stage sanding, and nothing protecting the bare polycarbonate afterwards.
The ceramic coating is what actually makes the difference. It bonds to the freshly polished lens and blocks the UV exposure that caused the oxidation in the first place — that's the step DIY kits and quick-shine services skip entirely.
Real reviews from Google, as they were left.
"I honestly couldn't be happier with the results! My headlights look brand new again, and I genuinely didn't think they could come back to life like this. He saved me hundreds of dollars by restoring them instead of me having to buy brand-new headlights. Amazing service, great value for money, and the results speak for themselves."

Every package includes the full sand & polish restoration and mobile service. The difference is in the coating and how long the results are protected for.
Fully mobile — if you're on the Gold Coast, we come to you.
Headlight lenses are polycarbonate plastic with a thin factory UV coating. Sun exposure breaks that coating down over a few years, and the plastic underneath oxidises — that's the yellow, hazy look. It's a chemical change to the plastic itself, not surface dirt.
With the ceramic coating we apply after polishing, results typically hold up well for a couple of years depending on how much sun the car gets. DIY jobs without a proper coating tend to start clouding again within weeks — the ceramic coating is what makes the actual difference.
In almost every case, yes. A new headlight assembly can run into the hundreds or thousands per side once you include fitting. Restoration gets you a comparable look for a fraction of that cost, done at your door in about an hour.

Yes — the whole service is mobile, so there's no need to track down a nearby workshop. Book a time and the restoration happens wherever you are, at home or at work.
Same service, different names — headlight, headlamp and front light all refer to the same lens, and we restore all of them using the same multi-stage sand, polish and ceramic coating process, regardless of what your particular make or model calls it.
Most DIY kits skip the multi-stage wet sanding that removes the full oxidised layer, and none include a genuine ceramic coating. The surface looks better for a few weeks, then the bare, unprotected polycarbonate re-oxidises fast. A professional restoration goes deeper and finishes with a proper ceramic coating, so it actually holds.
Badly deteriorated lenses can be picked up during a roadworthy inspection. Getting them restored beforehand is a fast, low-cost way to rule that out before you book your check.
